Sustainable Forestry and Climate Action at Recycle Jar Ecosystem Limited (RJE)

At Recycle Jar Ecosystem Limited (RJE), sustainable forestry lies at the heart of our climate action strategy. We are committed to fostering nature-based solutions that not only sequester carbon but also empower rural communities and protect biodiversity.

Our sustainable forestry and IFM programs contribute to carbon mitigation, help preserve vital ecosystems, support wildlife habitats, and build long-term environmental and economic resilience for the people of Bangladesh.

2.1. Agroforestry

Currently, RJE is placing a strong emphasis on supporting and monetizing carbon credits for existing agroforestry practitioners across Bangladesh. Our goal is to channel the financial benefits of the global carbon market directly to rural farmers and landowners who are already engaged in agroforestry.

By doing so, we help to enhance their livelihoods, provide economic incentives for sustainable land use, and encourage the adoption of climate-resilient agricultural practices.

Through strategic partnerships, capacity building, and technical support, RJE is developing frameworks that allow smallholder farmers to participate in verified carbon credit schemes. This includes:

• Baseline carbon assessments
• Monitoring and reporting systems
• Facilitating access to carbon markets
• Ensuring fair and transparent benefit-sharing mechanisms

2.2. Improved Forest Management (IFM)

In parallel, RJE is also working tirelessly on Improved Forest Management (IFM) initiatives. These projects aim to strengthen the health and resilience of both natural and managed forest landscapes by:

• Reducing deforestation and forest degradation
• Enhancing forest carbon stocks through better silvicultural practices
• Promoting community-based forest governance
• Integrating sustainable harvesting and biodiversity conservation practices
